Vincent Willem van Gogh (March 30, 1853 – July 29, 1890) was a Dutch post-impressionist painter and one of the most influential artists of the 19th century.
He was born in Zundert, Netherlands. Initially working in trade and teaching himself art, van Gogh produced over 2,000 artworks, including around 900 paintings, renowned for their vivid colors and emotional intensity, such as Starry Night, Sunflowers, and Irises. His work had a profound influence on modern art.
He died on July 29, 1890, in Auvers-sur-Oise, France, from a gunshot wound (suicide). He is buried at Cimetière d’Auvers-sur-Oise, Auvers-sur-Oise, France.
