Michel de Nostredame (French: Michel de Nostredame; December 14, 1503 – July 2, 1566), known as Nostradamus, was a French astrologer, physician, and writer, famous for his prophecies.
He was born in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, France. He studied medicine and astronomy and worked as a physician during plague outbreaks. His most famous work, Les Prophéties, is a collection of quatrains that purportedly predict future events. Nostradamus’s writings have had a lasting influence on popular culture and occultism.
He died on July 2, 1566, in Salon-de-Provence, France. He is buried at Collégiale Saint-Laurent, Salon-de-Provence.
